The day i got changed and elder prisby gave me the pensionist keys. hahahah its funny bc me and him just switched places. we have 3 companions in common but we have never been companions.
HELLO! i love where im at right now! elder decker and i are having a great time. Every day is so so so busy! haha we are always on the phone with house owners or other missionaries ha and we run errands all day. its a very drastic change. before i walked around all day with my book of mormon in my hand, and now im driving past my old sectors in the truck listening to some great spiritual hymns! haha honestly, i really do miss being teaching a lot. we only get like 2 or 3 hours [teaching] in every day if we are lucky. but sometimes we have to do lots of stuff and drive everywhere. but its fun too, it gives me a lot of time to talk to elder decker about anything and everything. and also being a pensionist really is helping me develop different attributes and abilities. we have to be very wise with our time and plan our day so we can get a lot of things done. its good, im learning this bc i was not good at this before my mission. so hopefully when i get home, i use my time wiser and i dont put my time into good things instead of better things :)
MOTHER you turn 42 on monday. happy happy birthday :))))! if you every feel like you are getting too old, just remember that literally everytime a chilean sees the picture of my family in my book of mormon, they always exclaim, That is your mom?? she is so young! haha but sincerely, you are a fantastic mom and i love you so much!
[I left this in, because it's adorable of him to be so thoughtful]
the first session of conference was so great. what im doing differently this time is working so well. ive always hated taking notes bc i feel like, we can just look up the talks and read them again! ha but a few months ago elder bednar confirmed my thought that ´taking a record of the meeting is pointless´ but what we should do is write what the spirit tells us. i love that! so just barely i took notes on what my thoughts were during the talks. that was so great i loved it. im so excited for the next session!
a few hours ago before the first session, me and elder decker were in the chilean walmart and i thought, wow all the people dont even realize how special this day is. we are about to hear from inspired and authorized servants of the Lord. i think of the doctrine and covenants scripture in section 1....whether it be by my own voice or the voice of my servants, it is the same. so basically, whatever these men and women tell us this weekend, comes directly from the Lord Jesus Christ. that is so important. i remember at home i never appreciated conference in the way i should have. it really is such a blessing that a prophet of God is on the earth today.
i also would invite all of you, my family, to take notes in that way so that the spirit tells you what changes to make in your life so that you are closer to Christ.
i love Jesus Christ and i will never deny that He lives and that He loves us.
those 2 truths are precious to me and i hope you all ponder that every day:) love you all!
ENJOY CONFERENCE
love colton!
Conference notes, "Sincere prayer really does make a difference" "I personally am thankful that life is not fair."
