Week #72, March 7, 2016

Hallelujah porque none of us had changes!! me and elder allen totally thought that elder farah would be leaving bc he has been here for 5 changes in the coast! i prayed all week for him to stay and the Lord blessed us!!! haha we were screaming like little girls last night hahaha. in the street we sing the 3 amigos song and we hold the high note for like 15 seconds straight hahahah

This week has been a pretty good week.

I was going through some deep reflection this week. just thinking about the kind of person i was when i was at home and even when i started my mission. i feel like i have gone through so many changes. and its all thanks to Jesus Christ. i had some thankful moments this week:) there is a scripture that I LOVE. in  its my lema. i love in matthew 11: 28 - 30. its my lema. i love those verses.

28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I ammeek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

We saw such an amazing miracle this week. there is this family that was baptized in september of last year and they have gone through some hard things and they havent gone to church for a long time. and the daughter that is 20 wasnt receptive for the whole time ive been here and (talking like a chilean) she hasnt fished us at all. but this past Wednesday we showed up to read in the Book of Mormon with her and we read in Alma 36. i absolutely love this chapter, it describes Alma´s conversion and the atonement and forgiveness. it was very spiritual. she later said the last prayer and prayed to go to church. And she totally did!! she showed up with a big smile on her face! and on top of that it just so happens that she babysits our investigator that is getting baptized and he wasnt going to be able to come bc his mom had work, but then she took him for us!! so we are retaining and baptizing at the same time! its great. im happy. i love that it doesnt matter how far away we are from Christ, to be able to repent and turn our hearts back to him. The Atonement is so powerful and so sacred that ALL of us can have a change of heart and be forgiven of our sins. 

ok those were the spiritual highlights of the week. the funny ones were pretty dang funny. i love laughing its a great thing to do!

so every night when we get home its dark and there are always snails on the sidewalk! and every now and then we forget and we are just walking home laughing and talking and then CRACK one of us hits a snail. its sad. we gotta be better at not killing snails haha

we continue to be chased by dogs. the dogs here are terrible and i wish i had a shovel. haha just kidding. but elder allen was being chased up a hill by 7 dogs all barking at him! and i had already ran up the hill so i was up there waiting and then i yelled (like shrek on the first movie) and all the dogs got scared and ran away. hahahah it was so funny. elder allen almost died though.

The Zone

we were in a house teaching and they always give us juice or cocacola in every house. i had the pitcher of the juice and i looked at my comps and said inenglish, do you want some?? and they said yes. and then i looked at a little 7 yr old girl and said in english, do you want a glass? and SHE ANSWERED ME and said no. hahaha we were so confused. she doesnt know english. she probably just guessed correctly hahah

we play a game here where you have to kick a rock through the other persons legs and then its a goal. so i kicked a rock in the street and i missed elder allens legs and it was rolling down the street pretty fast, and i was oh no this is gonna be bad. and right before it got to a parked car the rock jumped and hit the bumper and a really loud car alarm went off and yeah that was very embarrassing hahah.

anyways, its a new change and im SO GLAD that we are still here together bc elder farah and allen are my best friends. we are going to take out the trash this change!

oh and a new thing im starting this change is a diet. man i need to get into better shape. chile is killing me and im sick of it. so im going to eat better.

this is elder darton. i love him. he is in the zone and yesterday he got the chicken pox! im so sad for him he has to be in bed for 2 weeks to a month!
