First, a great woman i know was baptized on saturday! ha i figured its better to tell the story after it happens so nothing bad happens haha.
Maria is such a great woman, she is a maid to one of the members here in the ward. she has talked to lots of missionaries over the years but never listened to the lessons. so only 2 weeks ago! we invited her to participate in the family night we were having there and in the first lesson she said she would be baptized. so we started passing like 3 times a week there and she came to church 2 times and was baptized the following saturday and confirmed yesterday! it was such a miracle. she is such a sweet woman. she is around 50. and she said she loves our message bc it talks so much about the importance of families and how families can be eternal. i love her she is so great:) im attaching a pic of her.
We also had a big meeting with the whole area of chile argentina paraguay and uruguay with elder bednar. i respect that man so much. i love how humble he is and how great of a person he is. he always invites the spirit and i was able to feel the spirit very strong with him. one missionary asked him, ´how did you prepare for this meeting today?´ and elder bednar responded that he has been preparing for 45 years. and he quoted the scripture of continually treasuring up in your heart the words of eternal life. i love that. he doesnt do anything that we cant do. we can all meditate continually upon the words of eternal life and study the scriptures and apply them to our lives.
The other day on saturday we were running around like CRAZY. we took like 8 taxi rides in the day bc we had so much to do. and right before marias baptism we were up in our sector kind of far away and we were waiting for a taxi and it wasnt coming. so elder farah stuck his thumb out and these sweet old farmers stopped their truck and gave us a ride! ha idk if that is legal here or not, but it was great bc we contacted them and they invited us to their house to teach them this sunday!
ok now the funny stories of the week, well we ordered pizza again. and on the phone i asked her at what time they would show up. she promised me 10. i told her ok if its after 10:15 we have a rule where we cannot open the door. ha and she was like no worries bc the security guard will let us in. and i said, no we are missionaries and we cant open up past 10:15. ha and then it clicked. she was like, so if we are late you arent paying. exactly. hahaha and then i said but hey no worries you promised it would be here before 10 right? hahahah and then the pizza got there at 9:57!! so we ate pizza it was great:)
also in the road i told my companions that the half is glass full, and then elder allen stared laughing and i didnt understand why. hahah i mixed up the words.
also i had a really embarrassing mess up. to those that know spanish, i asked a man if we had our ´trasero´ instead of asking for our ´trapero´. 2 COMPLETELY different things hahahaah im an idiot.
and lastly MY AMAZING SISTER SADIE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON WEDNESDAY. i love you sadie! felicitaciones por cumplir 12. ahora es una mujer joven!! qué bakan!
i love you guys. i have the best family:)

Below is a conversation between Colton and Clint. We have been going back and forth about going to Chile to pick Colton up this fall. Clint has an opportunity to even go to Chile with a GA in November. We decided to lay out on the pro's and con's. The pro's were good pro's! But the con's outweighed the pro's by double. Why we didn't pray about it was thoughtless and dumb on our end, but Colton put the whole situation into perspective for us. I am so grateful for prayer and our children's example to us. -Tina
Dad, ive been waiting to write you all week. i felt bad about how i sent you that email again, [just an email excited for the prospects of picking Colt up in Chile]. after i read your letter in my pension i have been thinking. and during this week i have been praying too and i honestly think its better if you guys dont come and i just come home in october. because i dont want to make you sacrifice anything, and also i can come back to chile further down the road. i feel my thoughts were confirmed by the spirit so i want to do that. and hey i just want you to know how much i appreciate and respect both you and mom. i love you guys a lot and i have a lot of gratitude for everything you do. so anyways, dont worry about planning on coming :) i love you dad
Love you too! Thanks for your understanding. This is hard for us too, especially for mom who has bonded with some of your good friends there through social media. Sometimes the right decision isn't the one we want. But, the Lord will bless us for doing what is best amid our circumstances. Have a great week! (Clint)
Thanks dad :) and you know im not sad at all, im very happy! after the last email last week i just thought about it, and i realized i hadnt even prayed about it. so i decided to and the answer came immediately. so no worries everything is great!
