Week #57, November 24, 2015

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! yeah ok im going to just start with the bad news.  last week my camera got stolen with my pictures:( im sorry im an idiot. i was so mad! someone stole it from a ciber. so yeahhhhh i dont have pictures to send to you. but on a happy note, this thursday is thanksgiving!!

today for pday we had such a crazy day! we had to go do a bunch of crap for the visa of elder lastra and it was pretty hectic. its called the visa run bc you have to get to each destination in time so that it only takes one day to do it. we were like 12 or 13 blocks away from the last place at 1:40 and the place closes at 2 so we SPRINTED through the streets of santiago. it was actually a lot of fun, just dodging a bunch of people hahah and almost clothes lining old ladies hahaha. but in the end we made it! so now elder lastra is legal! and then after we had a thanksgiving lunch with the zone!! elder and hermana checketts (the niece of great gma fairbourn) made us an american thanksgiving meal!!! i ate stuffing today!!! and man my stomach sucks! i couldnt eat hardly anything! its ok it was a really fun time.

yesterday we passed for this joven of 15 years and he came to church last sunday and loved it! and when we showed up he asked us, so when can i get baptized?? it was the coolest thing ever!! his name is isaac. and its cool bc we were walking down the street and he passed us and i literally thought, we need to go back and talk to him. and then i told myself nahh thats nothing, but then i was still feeling it so we went back to go meet him and now look! so we are passing for his house often:) and freddy is so legit!!! but the saddest thing ever, as of right now he cannot be baptized bc of certain things....so yeah we are just going to pray that that situation resolves itself soon! freddy is so funny. he shows up to the gospel principles class and has so many questions. hes great. ha i love black people.

the other day the bishop let us borrow his english hymn book and MAN i loved it! we sang english hymns for like 1 hour in the house! i always hated singing at church and i have no idea why! singing really invites the spirit, it really does try it! and they just put you in the best mood! so yeah hymns are good stuff.

we had a special capacitation as a mission the other day and before in the mission we had this rule called 7 7 7. its this system of being obedient and marking your obedience, and its great and all but yeah so president said we arent doing it anymore bc the ´law of moises´ has been fulfilled and now we live the law of christ! and it really is such a better law. that applies to life too. it helps us keep our priorities straight. and it helps me remember to be obedient for the right reasons. and just like in life, we shouldn't just go through the motions taking the sacrament, going to church every week just to please other people. we should do everything bc we want to show our love to God. so yeah those are colton's deep thoughts of the week haha

on sunday we had the primary program in church and MAN those kids blew me away!! the talks they gave seriously were amazing. one girl that literally is like 7 years old talked about the mission of the church. she talked as if she was like 30 years old, it blew everyone away. and another girl talked about the holy ghost and how important he is and overall it was just a really good feeling! the testimony of little kids is always so strong. i cant wait til i have kids too! hahah

and lastly, i would love to ask a huge favor. lately ive kind of been a tie guru and my favorite mark is tommy hilfiger. and idk i would LOVE a couple tommys for christmas!! haha but yeah thank you so much for the camel package it made me laugh so hard! hahah i cant wait for the ipod thank you so much heather!! i hope you guys have an awesome thanksgiving. being grateful is important! always be grateful! have a good week:)
love colton

[One of Clint's co-workers was able to deliver Colton's Thanksgiving package right to the mission office in Chile. They promised he would receive it on Thanksgiving. Inside: an IPod from Aunt Heather filled with church hymns, Lord of the Ring soundtrack *as requested and approved :), and conference talks, as well as  contacts, letters from home and dried Mango's.]
