my mind has been thinking about a lot of things lately. ive noticed that all of us in the world have lots of differences. but every one in the world has a common need. whether they realize it or not, everyone needs to know and feel Gods love for them. i can testify that i have felt and continue to feel Gods love for me. and that is what gives me hope to keep obeying His commandments and living His gospel.
ok now i have a funny story. so we are in the process of slowly changing out the metal bunkbeds to wood ones in the mission. and we were hauling some wood from downtown santiago back to the office and then started to unload it. and i thought, you know what i can grab a lot at a time! ha so i picked up a bunch of wood and carried it to the room where we are storing all the wood and everything was going fine! until i went to put it down. i bent my knees, and then i heard a very loud rip. and yes, my pants were shredded hahah. normally it wouldnt have been a big deal, but the thing is i was in the only suit i have and in the last pair of pants of that suit, and they were destroyed! haha so i was thinking crap what should i do, and then i went to check in the bodega in the chapel for another pair of pants, and guess what i found! President Barreiros the week before had left a bunch of his clothes in the bodega for other missionaries, and he just so happened to leave a beautiful blue suit that fits me PERFECTLY!! i love it! so mom if you could somehow tell president barreiros that i am so thankful for that! also grandpa, im thankful for my suits that you got me! they were great, im sorry i ripped my pants!
Saying goodbye to President and sister Barreiros

oh mom, now that this is over i can tell you this. today we went to the temple for the foot doctor because my toe has been in la hiel. and its finally fixed! she put in the shot to make it so i didnt feel anything and then just took some special knife to the foot and got the infection out! there was a piece of a toenail in my skin i found out. but now im a new man! my toe feels great! we went with elder salvador and then after he took us to subway! i love elder salvador so much, i have gotten really close to him lately. he is one of the most consecrated people i have ever met. i want to be his friend for the rest of my life.
well, to finish i would like to share a scripture in mosiah 23:5 that says And they pitched their tents, and began to till the ground, and began to build buildings; yea, they were industrious, and did labor exceedingly. one of the secrets to life is work. if we want to succeed we need to learn how to work. Im thankful to have great examples in my life (like my parents) that have taught me that. i have really learned that here in chile. laziness is one of satans best tools. so dont be lazy, just work! :)
Brady, i love you, im so proud of you, im so thankful that you have made sacred covenants with God. and actually i have a quote. something you have to remember is that you did not make those covenants to go on your mission, you are going on your mission because of those sacred covenants you have made. always be worthy of the blessings the Lord wants to give you and strive to be a worthy priesthood holder. I love all of you, my family is the best blessing i have! ill talk to you next week!:)
love Colton
