Hello mother. you're going to be very happy with me. i took SO MANY pictures this week. this week has been insane but really fun too. but first i have to tell a story.
So we have been closing down some mission houses bc they are so old and nasty! in melipilla, there are 4 missionaries that had terrible houses, and president wanted us to take them out and put them in a new one. This new house is so nice. its beautiful and has lots of space and is brand new! so last week we went to test the keys we received on the house, and it didn't work! we thought that was weird. so we searched everywhere in the office and couldn't find any keys that worked bc we thought that maybe it was our fault and we took the wrong ones. but it seemed as if we had lost them. so we told the maestro dude to go change out the locks and give us new keys. so yeah on thursday, we were moving all the missionaries stuff from their old houses to this new one. and after we moved EVERYTHING we finally brought the missionaries to their new house. we show up and elder hansen that knows the regis family tells us, uh hey guys this isnt the house. and we were like what do you mean? its house 60 on this street, and he said no look, so on the house it said 060. and literally down the same road, was the house 60!!!!! that makes no sense right!! so thats why the keys weren't working!! bc it was the wrong house!!!!!! i probably reacted wrong, i just started laughing. elder decker was pretty stressed hahaha bc all the stuff was in some random house!!! ha so we had to drive an hour back to maipú to get the keys and then drive back and switch out the stuff to the right house!! but no worries bc everything turned out just fine. some member said just take all the stuff out and sweep the house and then just leave it how it is. haha so thats what we did! and then we called president. that was a funny conversation bc i was telling him this long story about how all this happened. but in the beginning i said, president, we have something to tell you but dont worry everything is fixed and taken care of now. hahha and after the whole thing he just laughed on the phone and said, that is a great story for your journal! hahah he was so chill about it all! that was one of the funniest, scariest things of my time here in the mission.
Also today, we did surprise inspections for the ZL [Zone leaders] houses in the country!! so we took advantage of that and went to san antonio and we went to a rock beach mom! and i took pictures! you're gonna love me! hahah its been a great day.
us 5 secretary's are great friends! elder pomar, elder mcdermott, elder decker, me, and our brazilian buddy elder serrano. that kid is hilarious. we have a great time even though we are always doing things hahaha.
also in the truck, me and elder decker listen to hank smith and the other talks. THEY ARE GREAT. a quote i loved from hank is "the best thing i did in life was give up something i love, for the God i love even more." i love this quote. and i think of mosiah 3 19. we all have the natural man inside of us, but we just have to humble ourselves and do the will of God and then we will be truly happy and we will live with Him after this life.
im doing better with driving now!! i love manual actually!
another conference quote that i love is, "mortal identities aren't bad unless they overshadow our ETERNAL identities." we are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, that is the most important thing there is to know in this life. im so thankful for that understanding and i love that i have come to know and feel all this on my mission. these past 18 months have changed me completely. i LOVE being representing our Savior Jesus Christ.
Have a great week :))
